A lifelong resident of Pittsburg, Ray returned from three years in the Marine Corps to attend Pittsburg State University. He started his career in insurance working for General Adjustment Bureau on April 1, 1969. He then started his own agency in 1969 and merged with Angwin Stanley in 1974. Ray became a member of the Kansas Independent Agents Association in 1976, served on several committees and was president in 1981-82. He followed Jim Fee as State National Director for Kansas and served two three-year terms. He is presently on the M&I Bank Board and is chairman of the St. Mary’s Colgan finance committee. He and his wife, Zoe, have four grown children.

Ray contributes his insurance success to the employees who have worked in his agency and served the many fine customers of southeast Kansas and southwest Missouri.

"They have always been willing to do the job and go the extra mile to make sure the customers’ needs are being met,” he says.

Born and raised in Fort Scott, Doug graduated from Baker University with a degree in Pre-Law and Political Science. He began his insurance career as a Special Agent for the Western Casualty and Indemnity Company in Denver, Colorado. Doug has earned designations of Associate in Risk Management and Certified Insurance Counselor. He has served as a board member for a privately held commercial company. Doug is active in Rotary and other civic organizations as well as a volunteer for Upward Basketball, a youth outreach program. Doug and his wife, Kathy, have four daughters, Alissa, Vanessa, Lindsay and Krista.

Al, a lifelong resident of southeast Kansas, was born and raised in Fort Scott. A graduate of Pittsburg State University, Al has been a resident of this area since he joined the agency in 1976. Over the past 31 years, he has served as an officer and on boards for numerous civic and church organizations, including the Chamber of Commerce, Frontenac Rotary, Catholic Credit Union, Knights of Columbus, the United Way and school committees. Al and his wife, Linda, have four grown children, Matthew, Steven, Angela and Theresa. In his spare time, he enjoys bowling, golf, coaching Little League sports, traveling and spending time with his seven grandchildren.

After a 25-year hiatus from the insurance business, Ann rejoined our agency in November, 2006 as our receptionist and claims representative. She and her husband enjoy spending time with their grandchildren as well as camping at the lake. While at home, Ann enjoys spoiling her toy poodle, Kappy.

Brenda joined our agency in 2004, and earned her property/casualty license in 2006. She has had experience working with Direct Bill Reconciliation and is now the client service representative for personal lines. In her spare time, Brenda enjoys volunteering at her daughter’s school, scrapbooking, quilting and distributing books in the community through Bookcrossing.com. Brenda and daughter Emily also like to search for historical markers for Markeroni, an online network in which travelers journal their visits to historical sites.

Debbie began her insurance career in 1974 with Angwin Ryan Stanley, and has continued to work for the same agency through various acquisitions. She has worked in personal lines and claims, and for the past 20 years has served as accounting manager. She and her husband, David, have two sons, Stuart and Tyler. In her spare time Debbie is involved with her sons’ activities.

A 1993 graduate of Pittsburg State University, Cyndi worked in the lending and mortgage industry for 10 years before joining our agency in 2005. As a licensed agent, Cyndi specializes in commercial lines customer service. During her spare time she enjoys watching television, reading, cross-stitching, planting flowers and spending time with her family.

Pam, who started her career with the Pittsburg agency, has more than 25 years of insurance experience. She has worked in personal lines, claims, bonds and the last 15 years in commercial lines. She and her husband, Matt, live in Frontenac and have two children, Jarrod, an Emporia State University student, and Katie, studying at Pittsburg State University. Pam has been varsity cheer and Pep Club sponsor for the Frontenac High School, and has taught religion and been youth director for her church. She also has served as a scout leader and is a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Sacred Heart Altar Society.
